Last updated November 2026: Hua Hin nightlife is concentrated downtown near the beach, with Soi Bintabaht as the busiest strip and cheaper, calmer options at the night markets and the Soi 88 food court. Pick an area by mood and budget, then build your evening from the sections below. Beer prices here come from a 2023 visitor report, so check them locally before you budget.

Most bars sit downtown, a short walk from the beach. Soi Bintabaht is the busiest strip, and Soi 94 and Soi 80 offer more bars within reach. Tamarind Market sits about 6km from the centre, so plan transport for it. Bangkok is roughly 2.5–3 hours away, which makes a weekend trip realistic. Read our Bangkok to Hua Hin route guide for the journey. Train timetables are on the State Railway of Thailand site. Here is the short version by area.

  • Soi Bintabaht: the busiest bar strip, with live bands, small clubs and street food carts.
  • Soi 94 and Soi 80: more bars, with happy hours and a quieter feel on slow nights.
  • Rock Zone: a small live-music venue where the band starts around 9pm.
  • Night markets and the Soi 88 food court: cheaper beer, food and live music in a relaxed setting.

Which area suits you?

Match the area to your group before you head out. Couples and families usually do better at the markets and food courts. Solo travellers and groups who want bar-hopping fit Soi Bintabaht. Anyone avoiding hostess bars should start with the market options and live-music venues.

Soi Bintabaht and the downtown bar strip

Soi Bintabaht is short, yet it packs in a large number of bars. You will find open-air bars with live bands, small clubs and street food carts. Binta Burger is the best-known cart for late snacks. Hostess bars and open-air bars sit side by side here, and staff at the entrances call out to passers-by. A polite no and a steady walk is all you need. Signs now mark it as a Walking Street, but motorbikes still pass, so watch your back. A small local beer cost about ฿100 outside happy hour in a 2023 report. Our bar-by-bar rundown goes deeper on venue types. For a daytime-to-evening stroll, see the Walking Street evening plan.

Soi 94, Soi 80 and Soi 88 compared

Three similar numbers cause real mix-ups, so keep them straight. Soi 94 had two large bar complexes in 2023, WonderLand and Headrock Zone 94, each holding many small bars under one roof. Happy hour ran to about 8pm with small beers near ฿60, rising to about ฿80 afterwards. Energy dropped once happy hour ended, so go early. Soi 80 is a separate street with mixed bars and eateries, and many bars there do not post prices. Ask before ordering. A 2023 report found happy-hour small beers near ฿50 and standard prices near ฿80. Soi 88 is not a bar street. It hosts an outdoor food court, covered in the market section below. Confirm which venues still operate before you walk over.

Tip

Beer on the busiest strip costs more. At Soi Bintabaht a small beer cost about ฿100 outside happy hour, while Soi 94 happy hour ran to about 8pm.

Live music and rock bars

Rock Zone is the name to know for rock covers. A 2023 report put its small local beers near ฿90. Music started around 9pm, and the room is small, so arrive early for a good spot. Soi Bintabaht also has open-air bars with live bands, which suit people who want to drift between venues. Tamarind Market and the Hua Hin Night Market both host singers in a lower-key setting. Check the venue's own social page for current music nights, since schedules change.

Good to know

Rock Zone's band starts around 9pm, while the market was already full by 7pm, so a dinner plan needs an early start.

Night markets and food courts for a lower-key evening

Tamarind Market is the place for a relaxed night. A green songthaew cost about ฿15 one way in 2023, and the market was already full by 7pm. Bars sit in the middle of the market, with no happy hours and small beers around ฿55. Soi 88 Outdoor Food Court sells a large Chang for about ฿65 and has a big stage with Thai and Western bands. Families, groups and couples all mix there. Hua Hin Night Market spans two streets, so you may not be finished when you think you are. Compare the night market options and the wider market scene before choosing one.

  • Early dinner at a market stall or food court.
  • Small-beer happy hour on Soi 94 before 8pm.
  • Rock Zone for the 9pm band, if you want live rock.
  • Soi Bintabaht for a final walk and a Binta Burger.
  • Plan a sit-down meal first with our dinner before the bars picks.

What a night out costs

Treat these as 2023 relative signals, not current menus. A small beer ran from about ฿50 to ฿100 depending on the area. Markets and food courts were cheapest, and Soi Bintabaht was the most expensive. Bar prices change, so ask before ordering, especially on Soi 80. Prices are indicative only and need a fresh check on arrival.

Getting there, getting home, and where to stay

Downtown bars are walkable if you sleep nearby. Browse walkable hotel areas before booking. Tamarind Market needs a ride of about 6km. Options include a songthaew, a Grab car or a tuk-tuk, and the 2023 songthaew fare was about ฿15. Fares and last runs were not verified, so confirm timing before you go out. For late returns, read about late-night transport options and agree on a ride before leaving. Seasons also change the crowd, so check the best months to visit.

Safety, etiquette and common mistakes

Sponsored

Keep drinks in sight and watch your bar tab. Ask for prices first, since many Soi 80 bars do not post them. Expect motorbikes on Soi Bintabaht even with Walking Street signs. Use Grab or a licensed ride home rather than an unknown lift. Alcohol-sale hours and holiday bans change, so check current official notices. Do not assume a single closing time. Hostess bars are part of the scene on Soi Bintabaht and Soi 80. Declining is simple and polite, and the market options avoid them entirely. If you are comparing resorts, our Hua Hin versus Pattaya comparison frames the difference. Hua Hin is calmer, smaller and more mixed in crowd. For daytime ideas, see other Hua Hin activities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is better, Hua Hin or Pattaya?
