Koh Phangan Beach Clubs: Picks by Vibe, Coast & Cost
Compare Koh Phangan beach clubs by vibe, coast and cost, with sunset timing, getting home after dark, and what to check before you go.

Last updated November 2026: Koh Phangan beach clubs are mostly laid-back sunset venues, not Ibiza-style mega clubs. The island's party identity sits elsewhere, in Full Moon nights and jungle raves covered in our island nightlife guide. Here you get two venues with usable public listings, Harmony and Merkaba, plus the logistics for getting home after dark.
Koh Phangan Beach Clubs: Quick Answer by Mood
Expect beach bars and resort-style lounges with sea views. Few venues resemble a large club. Only two had usable public listings when we checked on 5 November 2026: Harmony Beach Club in the Ban Tai area and Merkaba Sunset Beach Club on the west coast. Other names appeared only in search-result snippets, so they are left out until their own pages confirm them. For a wider plan, start with our things to do on Koh Phangan.

- Mellow drinks and an easy afternoon: Harmony Beach Club.
- Sunset, a pool and a laptop-friendly corner: Merkaba Sunset Beach Club.
- Dancing until 2 am: skip beach clubs and read the party section below.
- Just sand and swimming: pick a quiet bay instead of a venue.
Beach Clubs at a Glance
Everything below is a listed figure, not a guarantee. Hours and event prices change, so confirm with each venue before you travel. Ratings come from public listings and are not our own scores.

Sunset and Chill: Merkaba and Harmony

Merkaba sits on the west coast, which is the side to choose for evening light. Its listing mentions a sea-view restaurant, wine and cocktails, a pool, a shower and a coworking area. Music runs from background tracks to a DJ and live sets. Public listings give it 4.3 from 143 reviews. A Beach Bums party was listed for a Sunday in November, 13:00–23:59, at ฿400. Event dates and prices move, so verify before you go. Harmony is in Ban Tai, listed as open 11:00–23:00 daily. It holds 4.4 from 437 Google reviews and a mid-range price tier. A directory puts it about a 10-minute walk from Baan Tai Pier. Phangan Sunset Bar & Restaurant is listed 450 m away if you want a second stop. For more viewpoints, see our sunset spots page.
Pool Days and Day Passes
Merkaba lists a swimming pool, which makes it the one confirmed pool-and-lounger option here. No pool day-pass fee or minimum spend appears in the sources, so ask by message before you commit. Pair a pool afternoon with a massage to fill the hours before sunset.

When You Want a Party, Not a Beach Club
Late-night energy lives at separate venues. Listings near Harmony show where. Beach clubs close earlier and sit at a lower volume. For Full Moon logistics, read our guide to Full Moon crowds and check dates on the official Full Moon Party site.
Party venues sit between 490 m and 2.4 km from Harmony, so agree a taxi price before you head out.
- Chill UP club: listed open nightly until 2 am, 490 m from Harmony.
- Lucky Bastard's Rock Bar: clifftop bar listed until 2 am, 1.2 km from Harmony.
- Halfmoon Festival: jungle rave listed twice monthly, 2.3 km from Harmony.
- Jungle Experience: forest dancefloor with an underground line-up, 2.4 km from Harmony.

Costs, Hours and What to Check Before You Go
Harmony is rated mid-range and Merkaba's listed event cover was ฿400. Sources give no drink prices, pool fees or minimum spends, so we do not guess. Message the venue and ask about entry, minimum spend and card payment. Carry cash for small purchases. Hours can shift on Thai public holidays, so check the venue's own page the day before. Harmony's listing names sunsetphangan.com as its website.
Listed hours run 11:00–23:00 at Harmony, while legal closing for most venues is 2 am.
Getting There and Getting Home Safely
Songthaews run from Thong Sala pier to the main beaches. Motorbike rental is listed at ฿200–300 per day, but hills are steep, especially toward Bottle Beach and Haad Rin. Mixing bucket drinks with night roads is the main risk. Legal closing time is 2 am for most venues, and enforcement varies. Our getting around the island guide covers each option in detail.
- Install Grab and set it up before you go out.
- Late taxis outside nightlife areas often refuse meters, so agree a price or book the ride home in advance.
- Carry a passport photo on your phone or a laminated copy, since clubs check IDs.
- Keep your phone charged for the return trip.
- Treat island bucket drinks as strong and inconsistent. Stick to one.
Best Time of Day, Season and Rainy-Day Backup
Arrive by mid-afternoon for a sunset seat, and go earlier if you want fewer people. February to September is listed as the most reliable weather window. October to December is Gulf monsoon season, with November listed as the wettest month. Check short-range forecasts at the Thai Meteorological Department. Our when to visit page has the month-by-month picture. On a rainy evening, swap the club for the night market or a dinner from our restaurant picks. If you prefer sand without a venue, compare the island beaches.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Most problems come from expecting a club and finding a beach bar. A few small checks prevent them.
- Expecting a mega club: these are sunset bars and resort lounges.
- Trusting a listing's hours: Merkaba's page shows closed every day, so confirm directly.
- Riding a scooter home after drinking on steep, dark roads.
- Arriving without ID or cash.
- Planning a beach day in November without a rain backup.
Choose Your Coast Before Picking a Beach Club
Choose the coast first, then the venue. Merkaba is on the west coast, making it the stronger option if sunset is the main event. Its Beach Bums listing ran from 13:00 to 23:59, so an afternoon pool stop can flow into an evening drink. The listed ฿400 cover applied to that specific event, not necessarily every visit.

Harmony is in Ban Tai on the south side. It suits an easygoing stop near the island’s main arrival and nightlife corridor. A directory places it about a 10-minute walk from Baan Tai Pier, and its listed daily hours are 11:00–23:00. That makes it easier to combine with dinner or nearby bars before arranging transport.
Haad Rin is the better base for Full Moon Party nights, not for a relaxed sunset-club plan. Keep the return route in mind wherever you go. West-coast venues can mean a longer ride after dark, while Ban Tai is more convenient for continuing toward Thong Sala or jungle-party areas.
