Koh Tao Beach Clubs: Where to Go and What to Check

Last updated November 2026: Koh Tao beach clubs are mostly beachfront bars, resort pools and event venues, not Ibiza-style superclubs. Sairee Beach has the longest run of sand-side bars, and Mae Haad has an all-day spot near the pier. Pick by time of day first, then confirm hours, events and entry rules on each venue's own page.

Koh Tao Beach Clubs: Quick Picks by Evening Type

Our research surfaced a handful of venue names from search listings. Treat each one as unconfirmed until you check its official page or social account. Venues rename, close and change event nights, and one review we found is dated February 2025. Start from the kind of evening you want, then match a venue to it. For the wider island picture, see our guide to 9 Best Things to Do in Koh Tao for Divers and Non-Divers.

  • All-day hangout with breakfast, cocktails and sunset sessions: Goodtime Beach Club at Mae Haad, which advertises a walk-in-whenever approach.
  • Weekly music and dancing night: AC Bar Beach Club on Sairee, which has announced a new weekly event. Confirm the day before you go.
  • Beach bar, terrace and garden near Sairee: the venue listed as Koh Tao Beach Club. Check whether it is a bar, a resort pool or both.
  • Tapas, cocktails and sunset music: a Spanish-style beach club that takes reservations through its social handle. Confirm its name and location first.
  • Reviewer favorite: Maya Beachclub, praised as a top beach bar in a review dated February 2025. Verify that it still operates.

What a Beach Club Means on Koh Tao

Locally, the label covers three things. Some venues are beach bars with loungers on the sand. Others are resort pools that welcome day guests. A few are event spaces that run weekly music nights. Do not expect the mainland or Samui-style club format with large dance floors and headline DJs. Koh Tao is a small dive island, and its evenings run on sunset drinks, fire shows and low-key music. Our editorial read is that the best plan is a relaxed afternoon that rolls into sunset. Anything later depends on that week's events. For the full after-dark picture, read our Koh Tao nightlife guide.

Sairee Beach Options

Sairee is the long beach with the densest mix of bars, restaurants and dive shops. That makes it the easiest bay for an evening that changes shape as you go. Start with a lounger or a terrace table in the afternoon. Move along the sand for sunset. Finish at whichever bar has a live event. AC Bar Beach Club and the venue listed as Koh Tao Beach Club both sit in this orbit. Weekly event nights change often, so look at the venue's latest post before you plan around one. For the sand itself, see our Koh Tao beaches guide. If you want drinks without the music, browse our Koh Tao bars roundup.

Mae Haad and Other Bays

Sponsored

Mae Haad is the pier town, so it works well on an arrival or departure day. Goodtime Beach Club is listed here and pitches itself as an all-day stop. That suits a long layover between ferries. Ferry operators such as Lomprayah publish current schedules, so check the boat time before you settle into a sunset session. Our Koh Tao ferry guide covers the crossing in more detail. Other bays may have venues that our research did not confirm. Treat any name you find only on a map listing as unverified.

Costs and Booking Checks

Our sources gave no confirmed entry fees, minimum spends or lounger charges, so none appear here. Relative to a resort-pool day, a beach bar with free walk-in seating is usually the cheaper route. Our editorial assessment is that event nights and reservation-only venues sit higher. Check each venue's current menu and any day-use rules before you go. Reservations tend to run through a website or a direct message on social media. Message early if you want a sunset table. Carry some cash as a backup, since card acceptance on a small island is not guaranteed. Meals before or after can come from our Koh Tao restaurant picks.

Getting There and Back at Night

Sponsored

Plan the return ride before you order the first drink. Moving between Mae Haad and Sairee at night is the main trade-off on this island. Late transport can be thin, and we could not source current taxi or songthaew hours. Ask your accommodation or the venue staff how people get home that evening. Riding a scooter after drinking is the riskiest choice. Swimming after drinks is a close second. Keep valuables off the sand and out of unattended bags. Our Koh Tao transport guide compares the options for getting between bays. If you are still planning the trip, start with how to reach the island.

When to Go and Rain Plan B

Sponsored

Beachfront venues depend on the weather and the sea. Rough water or heavy rain can cancel events and empty the sand. We did not find a sourced month-by-month breakdown, so check the Thai Meteorological Department for current forecasts. Our guide to the Best Time to Visit Koh Tao: Month-by-Month Guide covers the seasons. For sunset timing and the best viewing spots, use our Koh Tao sunset guide. If the sky closes in, swap the beach for indoor ideas from our rainy-day Koh Tao list.

Mistakes to Avoid

A few errors cause most disappointing evenings.

  • Assuming walk-in is always fine. Message first if you want a sunset table.
  • Skipping a return-ride plan between bays.
  • Expecting a mainland-style club with a late dance floor.
  • Relying on an old event night from a listing or review.
  • Trusting a venue name from a map listing without checking that it still operates.

When a Beach Club Evening Is the Wrong Fit

Sponsored

Some travelers will enjoy a quieter night more. Dive-crowd bars suit people who rise early for boat trips. A calm sunset on the sand works for families or couples who want no music at all. Food-focused evenings fit better at the island's markets, and our Koh Tao night market guide covers that option. A massage can also replace a late night entirely, and our Koh Tao massage guide lists where to book one.
